Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
After 10 years of working at my previous school, I'm excited to start a new adventure in a new public school. My position will be in a bridged self-contained classroom with special education students in grades K through 2. The class is made up of 3 kindergarten students, 2 first grade students, and 2 second grade students. The students are from various cultural backgrounds and they are all BOYS! Through the years, I have learned the importance of teaching special needs students with visual aids. My students will also need individualized instruction to meet their IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals. It is my passion to reach every learner in order to ensure their success. My students will need many supplies that are not usually offered by the school. I look forward to finding a way to provide my students with the access they will need to succeed.
My Project
We love the printer we received from our previous DonorsChoose.org project. We use it so often that we unfortunately have run out of ink. I am requesting black and color ink so that my students will be able to get the individualized support that they need through paper choice, graphic organizers, and colorful realistic photos to support their specific learning needs.
The seven boys, currently in my class, each work hard everyday but have different learning styles, needs, and personalities.
Having the ink will allow me to continue to meet their needs on a daily basis. Thank you for any help you could give!
