Mrs. Pultz from Newark NJ is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need ink cartridges to print projects, progress reports, pictures, worksheets, and more!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
With no ink, students are never able to actually see their projects in physical form. With no ink, it is a struggle to produce the worksheets we need for class. With no ink, we have to hand-write notes from the board wasting precious time. With no ink, we can't print letters to parents!
Located in an inner-city urban community, our classrooms are under-supplied.
It is a struggle to provide all of the materials necessary to help my students learn. The reality they face outside of the classroom is so grim. It is filled with poverty, violence, and many other problems that plague inner city areas. Therefore, I love to offer my 6th graders a safe haven within our classroom and make them feel successful through learning. Many of my students struggle academically and need visual aides to help them learn. Without printing materials, I often cannot give them these valuable worksheets, print-outs, or visual reinforcements they desperately need. My students are also eager and love to show off their work and share final products of what they have learned! We are lucky enough to have computers and a printer in our room. However, without ink, they are not being used to their full potential.
If we had a readily available supply of ink, we could produce worksheets, practice sheets, notes to parents, grade print-outs, and create many more valuable resources for our classroom. Research has shown that students need to access information in a variety of ways in order to fully grasp concepts. Therefore, with print-outs and visual aides, I could offer another resource to help my students be successful. I know it would transform our classroom and take learning to another level.
Your help would have an immediate and profound impact on our classroom.
Instantly, we would be able to provide key tools to our students. You will make it possible for my students' work to come to life in physical form. It will also increase communication amongst our students, school community, and families. In all, I see this resource being one of the most important items our classroom could gain and give my children the quality education they deserve.
