Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Why are my students special? Despite their surroundings, they come to school every day, ready to learn. We live in a very low socioeconomic area. Many students are living in poverty, and school is the only "fun" they have all day. Between the teachers, parents, and community leaders, we all try to do whatever we can to make learning fun and enjoyable. My students are close to my heart, and, with your donation, we can make them successful.

As a teacher, I spend between $1,000 and $2,000 each year on art supplies, puzzles, and other manipulatives.

The supplies I am requesting would really help me because we all strive to give our students every advantage to be successful in school.

My Project

This is the second half of the year, and in Kindergarten, we need to ramp up writing. Students are very shy about writing in Kindergarten.

With the journals I am requesting, my students will be able to practice their writing in their own journal!

That is very exciting for them to have their own journals to write in, instead of a piece of paper.

Our school district provided journals, one year, and I was very impressed on how well the students took care of their journals, and how well they ended the year as writers.
