Our school is a really great place, and I am always trying to improve upon our learning environment to make it the best experience possible for my students.
I teach in a fifth-grade regular education, special education, and English language learner inclusion classroom.
I have students who come from many different backgrounds. By the time they get to fifth grade, some of them begin to realize that they are behind their classmates. It is my passion to change that and help all of them be successful.
My Project
Science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) are amazing subjects to learn about, and I want my students to love them all. I believe that students should learn through a hands-on approach. However, our school does not have much storage for learning materials in the room. I am requesting a 20-bin storage center and durable bins to help store and organize STEAM materials so that the students can get what they need for investigations and projects. We will store everyday science items in the storage center, such as magnifying glasses, safety goggles, forceps, and a plethora of other STEAM-related materials. Also, content-specific science materials will also be stored in here depending on which unit of study they are learning. For example, during their unit on electricity, the unit can be housed with batteries, wires, conductors, insulators, etc... These materials will change when the students go onto their rocks and minerals unit. Then, there will be different types of rocks, minerals, and fossils in the unit. That way materials will always be stored so my students can use and investigate with ease. Thank you for reading this request.
