This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My science classroom is a place of exploration, which produces 21st-century inquiry-based learners. Scholars will spend this year preparing to master the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test and incorporate inquiry-based learning skills to move them forward in advanced studies.

The scholars are 8th graders in an urban Texas middle school.

They are excited to explore the world of middle school science, to connect science with daily experiences, and to expand their capacity for inquiry-based learning as 21st-century thinkers. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

My Project

The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in science. Using the workshop model in science, scholars are able to write answers, draw models or concepts. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. These variety of supplies will touch special population, which my school has the highest population of Special Education and English Second Language Learners. The additional resources to our classroom will give us variety of ways to reach every learning style and cricut design adds creativity in the classroom.

My goal is to make Science great again for the next generation and to activate their minds of creativity.
