This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Working at a magnet school is an exciting new challenge each day! My students come from all over the Dallas metro-plex and their diversity makes teaching them each day a treat! My 7th graders are energetic, inquisitive, and excited to learn. Our DonorsChoose.org projects reflect our desire to take ownership of our learning and prepare us to be successful adults!

Middle school is a difficult time for all people!

If asked, most people will cringe when remembering their own middle school experiences. Please help us to make our middle school science time together enjoyable and a positive experience!

My Project

As students at a rigorous magnet school, my 8th grade students take physics as their only science class. Physics is an advanced course, typically reserved for high school students. Historically, our students have struggled with physic and the math-heavy materials. I am excited to teach Physics next year because it allows me the opportunity to change our curriculum from math-based to real-world examples!

We need more opportunities to experience physics, and the math behind it, in hands on/kinestetic ways.

An interactive whiteboard system, which allows us to annotate, draw, calculate, and record our lectures/activities will allow us the chance to experience this complex discipline in a non-traditional way!
