Hi! We are the Lowell Dragons! My students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and many of them speak a second language. In our classroom, my students will not only learn how to read, write, and do math, but they will also be encouraged to contribute their unique ideas, grow from their mistakes, embrace their community's diversity, and learn to become advocates for change.
I'm excited to meet my students and give them an unforgettable 1st grade year!
My Project
This is my first year teaching which means I'm creating a 1st grade classroom completely from scratch! I am hoping to grow an inventory of essential classroom items that are durable and worthwhile, items that will allow students to engage with lessons and school work in a variety of ways, items that take into account children's unique needs, as well as special, fun items that I can use as a part of building strong, positive relationships with my students.
This variety of items will be an important part of ensuring that our classroom is a vibrant, fun, and accommodating place to be.
