Our students are great young men and women. They mostly have a rural background and enjoy outdoor activities. A majority of our student population receives free or reduced-price lunch. They come from blue collar families that instill the value of hard work. Our students want to learn and be able to apply what they learn in school to situations outside of school.
Our science classes are engaging and real world.
The students are encouraged to think outside of the box. A goal for this year is to give no written notes during class. We want to make class time engaging and mentally challenging with our available resources.
My Project
The Ipevo VZ-R Document Camera will help us provide a way for the students in the class to be engaged during a lesson or demonstrations. It will make it easier to point out important concepts in the textbook, how to solve an equation, describe a section on a 3-D model, drawing graphs, showing examples of the students work, and much more.
The document camera will allow students to take their learning into their own hands, because the teacher will be able to film explanations and demonstrations for students to watch outside of class.
Being able to watch these videos outside of class will allow our students to correct their misconceptions on their own. Making our students independent learners. When students are able to to spot their own mistakes and correct them on their own it gives them pride and ownership of their work. Being able to see flaws and mistakes in your own work and correcting the mistake is a skill that will help in being successful in life.
