My students need engaging reading materials to overcome reading difficulties! With these Scholastic Readers and a bean bag chair, my reading corner can come to life!
Being in a special education setting, my students are struggling readers. These students really struggle with learning but have a never give up attitude! It is truly inspiring to see their drive to learn! I want to take away their struggle of reading by building reading confidence and engaging my students in reading with great books! My goal is to improve reading skills so students can enjoy reading on their own. Through instruction and access to reading materials, I know these students can become lifelong readers!
My Project
I am moving schools this year, and with my switch, I will be teaching reading for the first time. I have taught math for the past two years. To make sure my instruction is strong, I want to create my own classroom library! I plan to designate a corner of my new classroom to a reading area. I want to include flexible seating and a huge selection of books to chose from! By adding the Scholastic Readers and a bean bag chair, I hope students will foster a love for reading books. I hope these books engage my students to encourage lifelong readers!
