My Students

I try to make my physics classroom a fun and exciting place to learn the content material for ALL students. My students are huge fans of off-road racing so I try and use real world examples of the physics involved with racing trucks.

My students are a highly inquisitive and motivated group of 11th and 12th grade physics students of all levels.

We are a comprehensive public charter high school located in Southern California, and off-road racing is highly popular with them. They are always motivated by real world applications of what we are learning, and I try as best I can to provide them with these types of opportunities. Needless to say bringing a real world racing truck to them would be great but at $250k this RC version would be much more feasible.

My Project

Like I have mentioned earlier my students are highly interested in the world of off-road racing and this truck would allow me to feed off that interest. This will help them learn the principles of linear motion in a new and unique manner by providing them with ample hands on learning opportunities. I will also use it to help them understand electrical circuits and the wave principles involved with RC controls.

I know that bringing a real world racing truck to them would be impossible but this RC version would enable them to get some of the same real world experience at a fraction of the cost while greatly enhancing their enjoyment of learning Physics.
