I teach Japanese history and language to students after school to aid their knowledge of the world around them and supplement their cultural knowledge with what is taught in class. There are around 40 students that come after school and want to learn about Japan. Many of these students have an interest in going to Japan or working there one day, so this is helping give them an early start in meeting their personal goals.
Creative, intelligent, and curious, my students want to learn a second language and challenge themselves by learning Japanese.
Each student wants to learn Japanese and speak, read, and write it to the best of their ability. However, they do not currently have a guiding book or set of lessons to provide a guided path to mastering Japanese. They are hoping you can change that by helping them acquire a Japanese textbook that they can study at home and also with me after school.

My Project
My students need these books to learn Japanese easier and more efficiently when they are at school as well as at home. It will also allow them to learn more Japanese than what they have now because they could work ahead of the set schedule they are restricted to in class. This will allow for more uniform and specific lessons from a reliable source. The book is also used by the local college, which means many of our students will be prepared for language instruction in college.
