Many of my students face challenges at home that could easily pull their focus in the classroom. I want to have a space that supports them emotionally as well as challenges their learning. At LCS, we have a motto that students learn in many different ways.
Learning doesn't just take place behind a desk anymore.
We live and learn in a low income area, but families are so supportive of what we do at the school. We are supported as we grow our thinking and our students are getting more independent each day. The way students work reflects how we are moving towards our goals.
My Project
In our school, and in our classroom, we focus on our differences and recognize we have different needs. We are in constant motion in our classroom, it's just a matter of harnessing that positive energy to lift our work!
If you were to walk past our classroom on any given day, you'd see clusters of students scattered around the floor.
The wiggle pads will give them something to keep between them and the floor. The bubble seats will help students focus during direct instruction. Students know what they need to do their best and I want to do my best to give it to them.
