Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
With the changes in our state curriculum, my students are struggling with new concepts. With more resources and manipulatives, I know my students will succeed!
My students need the opportunity to succeed... I teach in a low economic area in a predominantly Hispanic community.
Many of my students will be the first in their families to graduate or go to college. Several of my students don't have support from home and the only encouragement they get comes from their teachers. I know given the right opportunities, that they can become better and overcome any obstacles that come their way.
My Project
My students need rulers, protractors, markers, problem solving games like Rummikub, BingoBus-Algebra, 22Ku-du!; and books like Sir Cumfrence, for our math classroom. The resources requested will allow me to better serve my students. They will provide opportunities for my students to explore algebraic concepts and have more hands-on activities for discovery. The books I am requesting will illustrate math in a new way and provide introductions into discussion.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by providing necessary materials for discovery learning.
These resources will change my students' lives for the better by allowing them opportunities for varied instruction and cooperative learning.
