In our school district, we have a high number of free and reduced price lunch population as well as a diverse population. My students come from a wide assortment of backgrounds that may not provide the technological or hands-on experiences that they need to develop higher-order thinking skills, inquiry-driven learning experiences, or basic computer/device skills.
My students love technology and hands-on learning experiences; they really can't get enough of this.
It is so rewarding to see them enter my room every day with huge smiles and watch them grow in confidence at the skills they are learning and applying! Seeing their eyes light up at their new discoveries and being able to share their discoveries with their classmates is truly magical in my classroom.
My Project
Throughout the school year my students are engaged with numerous aspects of technology and STEM learning. Adding Snap Circuit Kits to our curriculum is a great way for students to visualize the movement of electricity and basic circuitry needed for robotics. They are a wonderful tool for students to exercise their imagination and create projects to complete learning objectives and build team-working skills.
Electric circuitry projects help students develop critical-thinking and creative problem-solving skills that they can apply to other aspects of their learning and development.
Hands-on learning, like Snap Circuits, allow students to visually see how electricity works but also find a solution if the circuit doesn't work.
By adding these Snap Circuit Kits to our technology and STEM curriculum, my students will be able to not only learn about electric circuits and critical thinking skills but also give them an opportunity they would not normally get outside of school.
