This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in an extremely impoverished area of Detroit. They have numerous challenges in their daily lives. Although they have many hardships, they are eager to learn.
My students are five and six years old and learn best through hands-on learning.
They thrive on learning when things are colorful and engaging. I enjoy giving them the numerous types of learning experiences they need in school to help make them successful.
They need many different learning experiences in school because they do not have those opportunities at home.
My Project
When winter arrives, so do the germs! We need to keep our classroom clean and free of germs. I want to make sure that my students have a nice, clean environment to learn in. So many students come to school with colds and we want to have plenty of hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and kleenex to help keep the germs to a minimum.
We eat snack everyday in the classroom and need to keep the classroom clean.
Paper towels, paper plates and hand sanitizer are a must for my students to keep their learning area clean. Having the necessary items in the classroom, keeps the children from having to leave the room.
