Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach 4 different classes to 6 different class periods, grades 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Keeping my room organized and clean is a large undertaking, especially with such large classes.
California is facing unprecedented budget cuts, especially in education. Our school is in a poor neighborhood. Many of my students have parents who did not complete high school or even middle school. Our students face many challenges, including gangs, violence, and poverty. I am amazed by my students' perseverance and resilience and I want to help them any way I can.
My Project
My students need organization supplies to better access class materials such as whiteboard markers, Post-It's, thank you notes, and Lysol wipes. I will use the markers and Post-Its for basic classroom supplies needed for everyday lessons. The cleaning materials (Lysol wipes) are to be left out for students to access disinfectant wipes to keep their area clean, especially since we now have breakfast in the classroom every morning. This is even more important during this horrible flu season and so many students come to school sick when they should stay at home.
Thank you in advance for your help with this project.
The gift of these supplies will have a huge impact on my students' ability to do complete their assignments easily by accessing supplies. My students need to feel that they have all the supplies they need without having to buy them all. Thank you for helping them!
