My kindergartens were devastated when they were recently told that their music classes would cease to exist. They are living in an area where music is the key to life, a mode of expression, the soul of the community. When this was taken from them, opportunity and hope seemed to walk out the door as well. Please help me to try to fill this hole. My students are in a school that is 75% low income and we do not have luxuries like pianos and CD players. I would love to obtain the materials that I would need to set up a music time within our daily schedule. We would love to have some instruments and cultural CDs to listen and learn from. It would be great for them to be given the opportunity to spread their wings and sing like the angels that they are. I vividly remember singing silly songs and expressing myself with music and movement when I was young. I am anxious to give my students that opportunity as well.
