My students need a bucket of practice tennis balls and two tennis ball pick-up tubes.

Do you remember learning a new sport for the first time? My student-athletes are energized and ready to learn tennis, but need the materials to succeed!
My student-athletes are hungry to learn and and acquire new skills in tennis.
They want to be a part of a team that collectively improves; they want to be be proud when they complete with other teams. To be frank, many of them have never played tennis or held a tennis racquet; they come from a very high poverty neighborhood with limited athletic resources. Regardless, they are committed to joining the High School tennis team, and I feel a strong ethical obligation to ensure they have what they need to succeed. I want to show them how much they can grow given their efforts and passion.
In order to become a collaborative, talented team, we need materials to practice the right skills. Currently, we have only a few cans of balls and a few practice racquets. In order to do drill work and provide them with the practice they need, we need more tennis balls. The tennis ball pick-up tubes allow us to practice efficiently. I can also use these materials during my raquet sports elective class to introduce my students to the sport of tennis.
As a PE teacher and tennis coach at a high poverty school, I am completely invested in building confidence and skill in all of my students.
I believe that physical education is an imperative part of their day, and these resources will allow them to build competency and confidence in who they can be as strong student athletes.
