Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 1st and 2nd grade classroom is full of beautiful little faces with very curious minds. These are the type of children that always want to know more. The students at my school come from come from low socioeconomic families. Many of the parents are working multiple jobs to support their families.
These students are full of life and deserve the best education that I can provide for them.
They are intelligent, kind, and very creative individuals. The smiles on their faces and their eagerness to learn is inspiring!
My Project
My students have wonderful Chromebooks that have been provided by our school district. However, they are in dire need of headphones to help them independently work without disturbing other learners. In addition to falling apart, their current headphones fit oddly on them and often are way too loose or fit very tight. This causes a lot of frustration for them and prevents them from properly hearing the directions for their online iready math and iRead reading programs. Several of their headphones have stopped working on one side, and I don't even have enough of them for every student to use them at the same time.
With proper fitting headphones, my students will FINALLY be able to hear clearly while they learn.
These Sony headphones have great reviews, and seem to be the best choice for my students. Once the distraction of the ill-fitting headphones disappears, their ability to focus will definitely increase.
