Help me give my students in need laundry detergent to use at home.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support and resources for learning. One of the biggest challenges my students live with is the lack of knowing where their next meal will come from, not having basic care items, and needing support as a whole child. I work at a school with students that are eager to learn but need basic care items to be successful.
Everyone should have access to their basic needs in order to feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn.
A large percentage of our students live in multi-family member homes, foster homes, other family members and friends' homes, and hotels/motels. These students and families may not have the financial freedoms to provide basic needs.
Having the ability to provide our school's students with these items can change a student's confidence, emotional well-being, and provide a positive atmosphere when they are at school. It is our job as educators to ensure that all students have everything they require to make sure they are receiving the best education possible. Breaking down these barriers will help students focus on their success while in our schools.
Many of our students live in low socioeconomic neighborhoods and need our help with basic care items. The students live in multi-family member homes, foster homes, and motels/hotels. This project will provide our students with not only their most basic needs, but emotional well-being, positive atmosphere, confidence, and success.
My students should have access to laundry detergent to make sure that they have a chance at being successful in the classroom and promote a positive learning environment.
This laundry detergent will help inner-city student's clothing stay clean and increase their self-image. Everybody should have the opportunity to have their basic needs met. We, as community members, have a responsibility to make sure that our youth has what they need both in and out of the classroom.
These items will be kept in a discrete location and available to the students that are needing their basic care needs met by coming to this room to obtain what they individually need.
