My class is full of creative, caring, and hard-working students. These are kids who are willing to work hard despite coming from difficult home situations. Our district recently had significant cuts to funding due to budget cuts, and finding money for classroom supplies and equipment is extremely difficult.
We are a Title I school with 100% of the students receiving free breakfast and lunch at school.
Many have a history of trauma in their lives and need a space where they can feel comfortable as they learn.
This project will enable each student to be able to work on a computer each day to enhance reading, math, science, writing and social studies lessons. These Chromebooks are necessary to run essential programs that add to student learning such as Lexia and Eureka math.
Right now we only have enough computers to let the whole class use a Chromebook every 4-5 days as the cart is shared between 4 classrooms, but with this project, students will be able to use computers every day to add to lessons taught in class.
Please help us take advantage of engaging lessons that are available to us on computers.
