Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The Madcaps are an honors level choir that tours the city in which they live. As a group they sing for many different occasions and need to learn a variety of music. They are hard working and rehearse both during the day and after school. They are dedicated, hardworking, and smart kids.
A chorale is a group for anyone who wants to come and sing. Their music is chosen to train them to become a Madrigal. They have a desire to explore what we have to offer them. Every day they rise to the challenge and are shaping up to become a great choir.
The students of our school have done a lot this past year and a half transforming our music program into one that meets the needs of the 21st century. Continuing this trend we would like some organizational tools to help sort our new outfits as well as make them easily transportable throughout the building. Students will be in charge of keeping everything in the library neat and tidy which will teach organization and teamwork.
In Their Own Words
We frequently have to move things in our library by having these items we hope to be able to create a system where our outfits can be easily moved and placed on the appropriate bars as we sign them out. Our choir program is growing and every time we have a new member we have to measure them and find out which outfits fit. We can streamline this process.
We have filled positions in choir. We are trying to teach our younger members responsibility so that they can learn our system and by everyone doing their part become more successful as a whole. We would like to create a mentor program with our historian and librarian to teach future generations.
It doesn't seem like much but this project is simple in that it can truly help keep us organized so that we can don't have to repeat the same process a million times every time we have someone new in choir. We hope to solve the problem of a cluttered space with these materials.
