Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is all about second chances (and sometimes 3rd). Students receive the opportunity to retake previously failed classes online. It is a different environment. Some use the opportunity to catch up with their fellow classmates so they can walk the stage together. Some come back to finish up those last 2 or 3 credits they needed and pick up their diplomas.
But most of all, my class gives the students a chance!
These students are coming back and working hard to graduate! It is their choice, the ball is in their court.. help me, help them!
My Project
My students are in need of basic supplies to assist them in their online learning. They need paper, pens, and pencils to take notes, folders to keep their notes in my classroom, antibacterial cleaners and tissues so we don't get the flu, and markers to sign the board when they finish!
They are grateful for anything they can get as they are pretty much starting out with what I can buy them
The board in the picture is just a sample of the students I have helped graduate since 2010. They all get to sign the boards and make their mark to prove they did it!
