My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school in a small town, I watch my students experience many challenges and difficulties on a daily basis. Eighty-five percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Most of my students’ families struggle financially daily.

I try my best to make a little go a long way; however, most of my students are from low-income households.

We are a "Leader in Me School," and I try to teach my students to be responsible, good leaders, and good citizens on a daily basis. Despite all the challenges, my students are happy to be at school and eager to learn!

My Project

Many of my students need warm clothes for the cold weather! Many of my students come to school with no jackets, gloves, hats, or scarves even on the coldest days! I have been able to get coats but need help with accessories like gloves, hats, and scarves for my kindergarten babies! If my students are cold we aren’t able to go outside on cold days. They need to play and be able to get fresh air and get outside. They need these hats and gloves to be able to get outside but stay warm on cold days!

Being able to play outside on cold days helps my kiddos move around and be physically active.
