Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school every day ready to learn! School is an exciting place for them, and it is also a safe place for them. Students feel empowered each when they are successful. My hope is each students walks out of class each day feelings empowered and with their head held high!

I teach at a Title I school in South East, D.C.

where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to get outside of the city. Therefore we want to take students on a ski trip! Many students have never been skiing before, and on this trip they will get a lesson and get to ski for a whole day! The only challenge for taking students is transportation.

My Project

My vision for students is to expose them to as many different experiences in life. Equity is the key in education. All students no matter what their social economic status should be provided with opportunities to make memorable childhood memories. Skiing is one of those great experiences!

Your donation will help cover the cost of taking 45 students on a day field trip to ski the slopes at Liberty Mountain Resort.

The trip includes a ski lesson, equipment rental, a lift ticket, lunch and five hours on the slopes. Is that a great day or what?

Any amount you wish to donate, (big or small) is greatly appreciated! Look out Liberty Mountain, HES is coming to enjoy a day on the slopes!
