This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students at my elementary are truly a fantastic bunch. The 5th grade class is excited as the time approaches for them to attend the end of the year trip to Camp Schmidt. There are 103 students currently enrolled in our 5th grade, most of which have been together since our school opened during their 1st grade year.
As a STEM focused school, our students have a peaked interest in technology and the environment around them.
The students are eager to learn, explore, experiment, and change the world for the better.
My Project
Every year, Prince George's county public schools invite their 5th grade classes to attend an exciting field trip, Camp Schmidt! On this field trip, the students engage in team building, problem solving, and confidence building activities all with one focus in mind...helping our environment for them and future generations.
As a former PG county student turned PG county teacher I can say from personal experience that this trip is unlike any other field trip!
As a public charter school, the county does not provide us with free buses for field trips. This year, we have over 100 students which means we need even more buses.
Our students thank you in advance for considering donating to our project to ensure another generation of PG county students get this one of a kind trip experience!
