This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I made it to and through college, but in order to get my students there they need to improve their SAT scores, apply for scholarships and be set up for success! These books will help tremendously!
I work with the graduating 8th grade class from our middle school and I track them throughout high school and college.
We currently have approximately 300 alumni in High School and our first class in college! My kids are bright, and hard working but only lack the necessary resources.
My Project
What keeps most of my students out of college are their SAT scores and money. It breaks my heart when students cannot attend their first choice because they did not get enough financial aid or their parents cannot afford it. I requested SAT books to improve my students' SAT scores so that they can get into top notch colleges! I also requested Scholarship books because most of my kids can not afford the remaining balance on their financial aid letter. By having a book full of thousands of scholarships, they will have more opportunities! I also requested some other college prep books as well.
My project is so important because I am a team of one serving approximately 300 students.
The more books I have to share with students and to teach about the college application process, financial aid process, the better. I, along with my students would benefit tremendously from your donation!
