I teach 3rd grade at a rural elementary school in Southwest Virginia. My students are a very rambunctious group of third graders that work hard to get the most out of their education and are eager to learn.
Many of my students come from working families that depend on the school environment to help their children become the best they can be.
Many students do not have the supplies they need at school. I believe they deserve the best education I can provide for them. Although I wish I could provide all the materials they require, I need help from others to do this.
As we get ready to end one school year, we are already thinking about the next one. Our classroom could really use some supplies replenished that we have tried to make last such as privacy dividers and dry erase markers.
Our privacy dividers are 10 years old.
Although they have done their job, they are beginning to fall apart and not stand up. Those privacy dividers give students there own space when testing so they are not distracted by all the things around them.
We just this year received a new classroom laptop that is great but it didn't come with a DVD player. We haven't been able to watch the great DVDs that we have for science. Watching gives the students examples of science in the world and builds their love for science.
