Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Many of my students do not have access to fresh, healthy foods in their community. We will begin a classroom garden full of vegetables and herbs through this project. This will allow my students to have healthy food that they can eat in school, and take home to their families. We will be working with another teacher who will assist in teaching them how to prepare some of the food they grow.

Food deserts are a serious concern in the communities that my students live in.

This project will prevent those food deserts from controlling the health of my students.
