My students need pencils to do everyday work. We are in a rural area with low income and they simply have a hard time getting basic supplies.

My Students

Dawson ISD is a Title I school and in a very rural area. We are a small school but have very good results on state testing and students that go on to higher education, even though they are from low income families. The school is very effective at teaching these students. Our teachers don't make what they could working in a larger district, but we have a low turn over rate because of the kids and the staff. We are family. We do what we can for each other and the students. It's not uncommon for the students and staff to be together until well into the afternoon, if they are in sports or other activities.

My Project

This will allow the students to simply do their work that is required daily. Students have more than enough to worry with at home. They shouldn't have to worry about the simple things like pencils in class.

Help us get pencils and we will put in the hard work.

My students have some of the best State Assessment score in our area. They work hard and not having basic supplies takes up time in class for learning. Teachers are spreading their money thin as it is and we would like to help as much as we can. Teachers and students can do their best work if they have the supplies needed. We have plenty of paper, we just need pencils.
