The less clutter, the simpler the systems, the clearer the expectations, the easier the learning. I am requesting these materials to help my first graders better access their writing tools, their favorite books and easily identify their hard work up on the board!
My students are a diverse, curious, easily excited group of first graders in New York.
They are eager writers and more than anything they love their books! They love to be independent and take great pride in their work. The materials requested will make their learning that much more independent and accessible.
My Project
I moved to this school this past fall and have had to make the classroom systems work, as best as I can, with the supplies that were left by the former teacher. Many of these systems can be much more effective with some simple organization. I am requesting paper trays for the writing and art centers. I am requesting stand up bins for housing books in our classroom library, as well as, reusable labels so they can be easily rearranged. I am requesting magnetic tools such as name tag clips for showcasing student work.
These requests might seem so simple but my writers will know precisely where the paper they need is. My readers will know exactly where that non-fiction book goes and the magnetic name tags will be used for labeling student work and identifying student partnerships. These materials will be used with classes to come and will bolster student confidence as they navigate their classroom environment.
I hope you will consider supporting this project.
If you have a disorganized work space then I am sure you can empathize with how far this simple project can go. Without a doubt, these materials will be used day in and day out and for many years to come.
