My second grade students live in a world driven by technology.
Teaching 20 second graders ranging in ability with only one adult in the room is a challenge.
The iPods and AppleTV would give me the ability to have small group sessions to challenge more advanced students and help those who need small group instruction.
These modern devices open the door to individual and small group learning within the classroom that brings current technology to reading, math, and language. The inexpensive applications would allow me to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of my students.
The new California reading program, Treasures, utilizes small group sessions that are well suited to the type of small group work and individualized assistance that iPod Touches in the classroom can provide.
The Apple TV allows me to project the iPod image for the whole class to see, yet the controls are in their hands at their desks. These devices bring technology and learning together in the classroom to create a better future for our children!
