Imagine being an immigrant in this country, yet having the ability to proudly share American culture with others. You are finally able to share knowledge of this new country you now call home with other children across the globe! This is exactly what my students will have the opportunity to do!
I have the most amazing talented inner-city immigrant children that are always willing to learn and grow as every day is a new chance that they did not have before.
They have encountered problems and situations simply to achieve the American Dream. Some have even walked to this country for a better life! Our school services K-8 and we have a high bilingual population. Many of my students have very limited schooling in their own language and are now achieve amazing heights at our school . My students have come from all around the world, from many different and often difficult situations. They hold the American Dream, but need the tools to make them successful.
Sometimes school can be a drag for students. Especially if they are not taught to their learning style. We all learn differently, some of us are musical, artistic, athletic, interpersonal... we are all different. Yet the curriculum does not allow us to be different.
These materials will allow me to teach my students through their different learning abilities and styles touching each individual student at the same pace.
They will enhance my teaching in areas that the curriculum or school budget doesn't allow. We will be able to create interactive notebooks, create science guide, draw our way through nonfiction, the ideas are countless.
