My Students

I have a group of diverse students who are predominantly living at or near the poverty line. Parents are involved as best as they can and volunteer their time whenever possible around their work schedules.

The one thing standing in the way of my students making the most out of their educational experience is limited resources.

I have found DonorsChoose to be an amazing resource to supplement the materials in my classroom.

My students are eager to learn and naturally curious. Please consider donating to this bring the book Son by Lois Lawry to my classroom. Kids are loving the series and Son is the only book I don't have a class set of.

My Project

My students enjoyed reading The Giver, the award winning novel by Lois Lowry. They couldn't wait to get started on book two, Gatering Blue and are currently devouring it. I also have a class set of book three, messenger.

These books provide an amazing world that challenges kids to think about their own world.

The final book in the series is Son and it wraps up the first three stories while leaving students with an opportunity to imagine what the future will be life for these characters.
