Help Us Feel Safer At School

My students need to feel safe and secure in their school. We are in need of two way radios for every teacher on our campus to enable us to communicate in emergency situations.

My Students

Our students have strong character and close relationships with each other. We are proud of the respectful role models our students are to one another and within our community. We have approximately 150, 4th-6th grade students in our middle school. Our school has a total of 6 general education teachers, and 4 special area teachers. We are located in a close knit, rural forest area, in Eastern Arizona. We are a Title I school, with many students and families who are low income.

My Project

Unfortunately, there are many past and recent school safety issues facing our country. Our students and teachers have heightened safety concerns for our own school. We are asking for funding to pay for two way radios, so that each of our general education and special education teachers will have a device to communicate with in the event of a school emergency. We feel the ability to communicate effectively will enhance our emergency procedures that are already in place. Our students will feel more secure knowing their teachers can communicate with an outside source of help if an emergency arises, so will our teachers.
