My students are a diverse group of learners. Many of my students are on the autism spectrum, have mild-to-moderate cognitive challenges, and many have some form of language-based disability. These kids need special strategies and resources. Often times their hygiene suffers when they can't afford certain products and this affects their confidence when socializing.
My students are bright and sweet children who haven't necessarily built proper hygiene habits.
They need extra help to build these important skills if they are to be socially accepted. My goal is to help these students feel they are truly ready to take risks and interact with the world around them.
My Project
Students often come to school without having properly prepared to learn because they don't have the supplies available for proper hygiene and therefore haven't build healthy cleaning and brushing habits.
Every student deserves to feel clean and healthy when coming to school!
These hygiene materials will help build healthy habits in my students and create a classroom environment with students who are ready to confidently socialize without worrying about how they look or smell. When students know they won't be excluded because they might not look or smell clean they will be more willing to build social skills and interact with others!
