Help Us Explore What We Learn through Math Centers!
My students need math centers to be able to practice daily and truly capture the skills being taught during the day. They need wipe off activities to work individually and with partners on math problems.
My first graders are little people full of energy and enthusiasm to learn each day! They are curious and willing to try new things. Unfortunately due to their economic status and neighborhood they live in, their opportunities to try new things are limited.
They live in a high poverty community where they struggle to get their needs met and most of the time their educational needs are put aside.
They deserve a high quality education and classroom. They deserve to get all the supplies and resources to foster their learning each day.
The math centers are an individualized approach on having the student practice and internalize what they learning during math instruction. Daily practice of addition and subtraction is needed to achieve their goals. Students learn how to work individually and with a partner while trying to solve math problems.
A safe space to sit is needed in our reading area, this way all students are comfortable and are able to succeed during reading centers.
The wipe off activities facilitates learning by enabling them to wipe off and restart their activity while engaged in learning! They won't have to worry about accumulating trash or wasting paper! We are practicing being green for our Earth!
