Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderful, little people! I am a pre-school, Special Education teacher. My students range between the ages of three to five years old. I work at a Title One school. My students are new to school and are ready to learn!

We are learning about what makes the world around us move!

We are in need of switch adapted toys and sensory materials.

Active learning is without a doubt needed to help my class remain focused, alert, engaged and be active.

My students have different challenges, some of my students are sensitive sound due to lack of exposure, some need visual stimulation due to minimal hearing, some need moving toys to stay engaged.

I plan on using the materials I asked for in this project to set up a variety of sensory and switch stations that will give my students hands-on learning experiences, as well as stations where they can learn to experience sounds and textures, visual stimulation along with sounds.

My Project

All the materials will help my children social and mentally develop. The adapted toy will help my deaf and mute child learn about cause and effect along with the push toys. The magic sand with help my student with sensory issues and learn to play and explore at our sensory table. The alphabets letters and word cards will help my Autistic children to make connections to words and pictures. They are beginning to learn words and starting to spell, these materials will help them bridge the gap. The toys that light up and shake will help soothe my students along with stimulating them visually and tactilely.
