I have the honor of teaching 25 wonderful, crazy, energetic, and loving kindergartners. This is a Title I school with students who come to school with hardly anything, including backpacks and supplies.
Kindergarten has always been a dream to teach.
Giving these students the opportunity to explore and be creative is my main goal in this classroom. I want to allow my students to explore anything that they are curious about. They deserve to let their creativity and curiosity shine. I want my children to feel loved, smart, creative, and safe while in my classroom.
Unfortunately, we often do not have the supplies and resources that other schools have access to for their day-to-day activities.
These students deserve to feel supported when they get to school, and I need your help to continue helping my students in the best way possible.
My Project
Currently, in my classroom, we have two pairs of working headphones, with over 20 students needing to be able to go on the computers everyday, this quickly becomes an issue. Students are not able to do their work successfully because they can not hear the directions the computer is telling them. My students are currently using three computer programs throughout the day to enhance their learning. The programs are Imagine Learning during English Language Development (ELD) time, JiJi and Starfall during math throughout the day.
JiJi, Imagine Learning and Starfall require the use of headphones to help students learn to the best of their ability.
My student needs the headphones while they are completing their work. It will make it easier them to hear and be able to follow the computer's commands during Math and ELD while they are using the headphones.
The students will be able to follow the computer's commands and be able to focus on their work without being distracted by the noise coming from another computer while they work.
When students are done using their headphones they can safely store them in the bags. We are working hard to get an entire class set of headphones so we can all succeed during computer time.
