Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing group of PreK through 8th graders.
They are a diverse population of students, including many with disabilities and the majority are English Language Learners.
Still, one thing they all have in common is that they love art! Art helps them to be proud of their differences and celebrate themselves. It helps them to understand complex concepts in STEM. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, most parents do not have the money to purchase expensive art supplies for these children to create with. For this reason, it is especially important that these students receive art education in school.
My Project
What a difference good materials make! When students have quality canvases to work on they value their art more. They feel more confidence as artists being trusted with true art materials. It is a genuine esteem builder and so essential to growing artists. Your donation will help provide real artist canvases to groups of students to let their creativity run wild. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Help my artists to create museum quality artwork. We will have opportunities to present them in actual NYC museums. Experiences like that are beyond valuable to their creative growth and sets the groundwork for a lifetime of art appreciation and understanding.
