My students need tools and materials such as theraputty, kinetic sand, and a squoosh chair to regulate their needs so that they can be successful during their day.
My amazing preschoolers come from a variety of backgrounds. Located in a diverse town, our classroom is made up of several cultures and needs. Fifty percent of my class has special needs ranging from autism to developmental delays.
We practice mindfulness on a daily basis to increase our empathy and kindness.
We learn about diversity and acceptance of all walks of life. We love to have visits from animals and anyone who can help us learn and grow!
We have math and literacy nights for families to help bridge learning to home and also have had a morning of mindfulness complete with yoga and even a therapy dog! Family involvement is crucial to our classroom's success!
My Project
With the new school year approaching there will be new students and new needs. My classroom will be made up of two sessions, both with 50% of students having special needs. With your help, my classroom can be an environment safe for all students!

Therapy play sand and kinetic sand will fill our sensory tables during learning centers to promote motor development and social relations. The inflatable rocker and squoosh chair will be accessible throughout the day for any students needing vestibular input.
Theraputty and tangle relax therapy will help strengthen motor skills while the vibrating pillow and brush will regulate needs so that students can focus on a designated task. The cozy shades will dim lighting throughout the room to create the perfect atmosphere for calm energy and focus. Our classroom will not only be least restrictive, but will also embrace inclusion and diversity!
