My Students
This is my first year teaching 4th grade at AAL but I already know how talented and excited my students are! However, I need YOUR help to fill up our classroom library so that it can cater to their literacy needs.
My classroom is a diverse group of learners from the city of Milwaukee. Our room is full of students from all walks of life and at different reading levels, therefore choosing literature that was accessible to all was important to us! At the end of the students third grade, I paid attention to what the student were looking for in a classroom library as their reading interest grew and changed as they became older.
My Project
Our classroom community has NO books! My students are a group of readers at a variety of reading levels, who are all looking to read different books. I am looking to integrate reading into our everyday classroom routine while also giving students full choice over the literature they choose.
These books will be available to all my students so that they can discover and deepen their lifelong love for reading and quest to learn more. This classroom library will stand as a resource for students to use during individual literacy projects throughout the year. The novels I have chosen are a mix of fiction, non-fiction, culturally relevant, and exciting new stories for the class.
