This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In an age where everyone is going digital, my classroom is almost in the Dark Ages. An iPad will allow my students to connect with the outside world and allow them to gain technological skills that will help them become better students.
I have 16 wonderful kids in my room.
They are bright and eager to learn. They love doing hands on things and want very much to be able to maximize their potential. Unfortunately almost 3/4 of my class are considered economically disadvantaged with many of them existing below the poverty line.
My Project
My students would be able to use the iPad in many ways. First many of our readers no longer come with Cd's and content is online. The iPad will be used as a listening station. Second, my room does not have an interactive whiteboard. We would be able to connect the iPad to our projector to enable kids to use it like the interactive whiteboard. Finally, there are many apps on the iPad that will allow me to help all my students, including my students with disabilities.
