My students need to have a complete Raspberry Pi lab including the monitors and accessories to provide a rich experience in coding and computational thinking.
Our students are challenged to put forward their best work each day. Our school currently consists of students from our Pre-K program up to the 5th grade.
We are made up of students that are full of life and love to learn.
They come to our school each day eager to gain skills to use in the workplace of the future. It has paid off, as our school has consistently been amongst the top performers in our county. Our teachers care deeply about each student, and frequently collaborate to plan activities for the benefit of the students.
My Project
We have recently installed a 20 station lab thanks to previous donors and grants in our school. The lab has allowed for students to have experiences in coding and music composition through coding. There are students that could not work individually though, because there are not enough computers for each student.
With a complete Raspberry Pi lab that gives every student access to programming tools such as Scratch and Sonic Pi, they will become better prepared to enter a workplace that requires computational and critical thinking skills.
The lab will also promote creativity in our students through the use of the many software tools available to them. Finally, our lab is the seed for our STEAM lab... We want to continue to build this into a maker space and help students design and builds creations based on their learning experiences.
