My students need these items to complete our library Makerspace! Within our Makerspace, I am giving my students the opportunity to participate in STEAM based centers and these items will complete everything we need!
My students are being raised in a south central Kentucky town with the sweetest hometown feel, but with little opportunity for career paths. Many live in low-income households and poverty is a great obstacle that the staff at my school strive to overcome as we educate our students. Our students are so creative and are excellent problem solvers, and would benefit so much from products that can enhance and build on these characteristics they exhibit. I hope within my classroom, I can inspire future inventors, engineers and artists and give them hope for their future.
My Project
Over the last school year, we have gradually been fundraising, applying for scholarships and grants, and funding Donors Choose projects so that we can give our students the best Makerspace possible! This will give them access to STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, art, and math) based centers containing activities and projects that will promote 21st century skills and help them become future problem solvers. So far, we have acquired a 3D printer, 3Doodlers, tons of art supplies, modeling clay, legos, and countless other items that give our students the tools they need to work, dream, and imagine a world that they can create. I am so excited that this group of items is all that we need left on our "wishlist" for the year in order to complete our Makerspace and get to work learning and having fun being creative, innovative students! They will be so excited and thankful for the opportunity this will provide them! Thank you for believing in my amazing students!
