My student council is a group of very responsible and very creative young men and women. These students were chosen by their classmates to be their representative voices in our governing body. This group handles specials events such as ice cream socials, AR parties, and various other activities.
A new piece of their responsibility this year will be to serve on the school's yearbook committee.
This means that while under my guidance and that of our co-adviser, these students will be responsible for creating the content for our school's yearbook.
My Project
An exciting thing is happening this year at our school. Our student council will be creating our school yearbook. This means they will be responsible for taking photos at various events such as our Veteran's Day program, Awards' Day, and other events that happen throughout our year. These students will also be responsible for uploading the pictures to our yearbook website and then they will use the pictures to create our yearbook.
We currently don't have any digital cameras at our school that we can use to capture photos with a resolution quality high enough for our yearbook website.
Any pictures that we take with a device such as an iPad come out grainy and distorted when uploaded to the yearbook website. Our goal is to get two digital cameras that will allow us to take high resolution pictures for our yearbook. Our kids are really excited about getting to take part in the creation of our yearbook.
As an adviser, I love the idea of giving students a sense of responsibility and accomplishment. These students will be able to look back in the years to come and be able to say with pride that they had a hand in creating our yearbook. Please help our students create something that will last a lifetime.
