Help me give my students Be-Bots! Bee-Bots are an exciting robot designed specifically for use by young children. This colorful, easy-to-operate, and friendly little robot is a perfect tool for teaching coding.

My Students

The students at our elementary school are a diverse group of students from all ethnicities. Over 56% of our students are economically disadvantaged, but we are 100% accredited by the state of Virginia. Our students love participating in our STEM Trifecta Clubs, chorus, and other during the day activities. Everybody loves, including our families, coming out for our Annual Warrior Bowl, the flag football game between staff and fifth grade students.

Our students are keeping up with the high academic expectations set by Virginia Beach City Public Schools.

We are improving every year! I teach all the students grades K-5 as the Instructional Specialist and love seeing students' faces when they succeed in the academic and technological challenges I give them.

My Project

Students will use Bee-Bots to practice math problems and facts, sight words, retelling a story, and much, much, more, all while learning to code!

Students in grades K-5 will be able to code plugged in!

Students use cards to plan their algorithm before programming the bot. After programming the bot, the immediate feedback tells students if they were successful or need to "debug" their algorithm. Students love using the few Bee-Bots we have, only 4 in our whole building. I want teachers to be able to check out sets for whole class activities or singles for a station.
