My Students

My kindergartners come into the classroom every day excited and ready to learn. It's one of the many reasons that I love teaching kindergarten.

They are helpful, always do their best, and follow the rules.

They want to become readers and writers and take pride in their work and school. Our school focus is having a growth mindset. My students take this to heart never giving up and striving to reach their goals. They know that mistakes are opportunities to learn.

My Project

Children need opportunities to be creative! Technology is awesome but we can't forget the importance of play. Legos provide awesome opportunities for students.

By creating with legos, students use critical thinking skills, practice creativity, problem solve, and learn to work as a team.

Legos are also helpful in strengthening fine motor skills. Students build self confidence by planning and constructing a lego structure. Doing partner projects, build communication skills.

Students can build and write about whey they build. Challenges include measurement, research, and writing. Students can record their thinking.

Not only can students build cars, animals, and houses with legos... students can make alphabet letters and shapes. Legos can also be used to add and subtract by putting bricks together and taking bricks apart.
