My Students

My self-contained room hosts 7 active and ambitious learners! Reading is an integral part of our school day and homework routine. My students love to read; it's their favorite part of the day! They also love to play! I am really trying to build our classroom environment and make everything super engaging for our students!

Set in a high poverty urban area, my classroom provides an escape for our students to engage in fun, exciting learning experiences.

I have worked hard to set up a classroom that fosters learning among all of our students. The classroom environment helps them feel safe and promotes individuality and ownership of learning.

My Project

My students are students in a self-contained classroom and have severe learning and language needs. Most come from low-income households that do not have access to STEM and STEAM materials. Having STEM materials in our classroom will allow students to show and grow their creative sides.

It will allow my students work with STEM materials in a hands-on way and encourage both partner and group work.

These materials will help students practice following directions by building off a directions card as well as help foster building skills. These materials will help make learning fun in our classroom and also reinforce concepts such as force in our science curriculum.
