Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my class are resilient and persistent, vibrant, and compassionate. They are part of a Title I-funded school where 92% of students live below the poverty line. They represent a group of students from a multitude of backgrounds, nations, and walks of life. Many of my students are multi language learners and all of my students are students with disabilities.

Each day they work hard embracing their neurodiversity to overcome struggles with academics and social skills.

They continue to impress me with their tenacity, inquisitiveness, and humility. Our students love to help each other out and always look out for each other. I love coming to work and getting to work with students who are eager to learn and ready to tackle challenges with positive attitudes.

My Project

The supplies in this project will offer more choices and opportunities for students in the classroom. New books for our library to keep kids interests in reading high! New supplies for all students to utilize during class time and beyond. Finally, things to help keep our classroom organized and running strong. All of these items will be put to good use. We know students' reading growth suffered during remote learning and the COVID-19 pandemic. Help our classroom introduce students to the fun side of reading again. Help us continue with engaging class projects that will build our skills and our social and emotional learning skills.
